Islamic Jihadis Massacre 134 Christians, Mostly Women, and Children: Nigeria

On the morning of April 28, 2023, Nigeria woke up to the news of yet another gruesome massacre of Christians by Islamic extremists. This time, the attack occurred in the central state of Plateau, where 134 Christians, mostly women, and children, were brutally murdered.

According to eyewitness accounts, the attackers believed to be members of the notorious Boko Haram terrorist group, stormed the village of Gwon-Gwon and started shooting indiscriminately at the inhabitants. The attackers also burned down houses, looted property, and abducted several young girls and women.

The Nigerian government has been criticized for handling the situation, with many accusing it of failing to protect its citizens and allowing the perpetrators of these attacks to act with impunity. Despite promises of increased security measures and crackdowns on extremist groups, the violence has only escalated.

The international community has also been slow to respond to the crisis in Nigeria. While some Western countries have offered assistance and support, the response has been far from adequate. Many have criticized the lack of action by the United Nations and other international organizations, who they say have not done enough to address the situation in Nigeria.

It is clear that urgent action is needed to address the crisis in Nigeria. The Nigerian government must take decisive steps to protect its citizens, bring the perpetrators of these attacks to justice, and promote interfaith dialogue and reconciliation. The international community must also step up its efforts to provide humanitarian assistance and support and to hold the Nigerian government accountable for its actions.

The massacre of 134 Christians in Plateau state is a stark reminder of the ongoing crisis in Nigeria, and the urgent need for action. We must not allow these atrocities to continue. It is time for the world to come together and take a stand against religious extremism and violence, and to work towards a more peaceful and just society for all.
